Chapter 16
When the light vanishes,they're in the sandbox."I want to go to the castle to see what's new" Mean says.Snoots wants to work on his jet."Oona will go sees da Mers now."she says."Ok,less meet up wif Schlitzie later."Snoots says and starts working on his jet.Oona walks to the bay.She's looking for the dolphin.It's there,splashing about.She whistles.The dolphin swims over to her,flaps it's fins and squeeks.(You called?) "Yes,Oona seeks da Mers...Is Chole around?"she says.The dolphin starts goofing around and splash water at her."Hmm..."she sighs."Ohhh ! Oona sorry!Oona fergets...." She goes through her pockets and finds a fish.She throws it at the dophin who catches it in mid-air and dives.
She remembers how slow the dolphin was last time,so she sits down to wait.After a little while the dolphin comes back with Chole."Oona finds Sid'hindarin"Oona smiles."Great!"Chole says.She makes an oval bubble out of the water and hands it to Oona.She jumps into the water and follows Chole all the way to the bottom.She hears Chole call for the luminous fish again.The fish gives them light to see the bottom of the castle.Chole takes Oona to the locked door with the Sid'hindarin symbol.Oona gives Chole the Sid'hindarin.Chole places it in the carvings on the door.The Sid'hindarin opens in two and bright lights shines through it.Sounds coming from it.A melody.
"It beautiful..."Oona says.The door opens.Chole and Oona swims inside.In the chamber there is five small pedestals with wessels and in the middle a larger one."Where da light?" Oona asks.Chole looks upset."Where da light?" Oona asks again."I don't know!"Chole replies.Oona tells her about the Moonstone and that it showed her an Oracle."Oona will asks da Oracle fer help,Chole..Oona will be backs...Promise !" Chole smiles."Thanks Oona..Thanks for bringing Sid'handarin back."Oona grabs the dolphins fin and gets up to the surface.She sees Snoots still working on the jet."Oona is goin home to change clothes..."she says."Okies"She climbs up the ladder and gets inside.Her brother is there.He hugs her."How is ya,sis?"
"Tired...." Oona replies.She tells him about ShadowMire,all they went through to get the Sid'hindarin,about Mean fighting Prawfist and.That they opened the bottom chamber in the Mers' castle and there ws no light there."Oona will asks da Oracle fer help.Oracle will knows wut we has to do.."Doc nods.They hear someone knocking on the door.Doc opens it.It's Moontan."There you are.."she says."I came here after you left...More is sick,Oona.."
Oona looks at her."Who?"Doc walks to the door."Ima gonna go to da castle and helps out."Doc says.Oona opens her backpack and find the winter clothes Rose gave her."Who is sick,Moon?"Oona asks again."One,Pixie and Rose." Moontan replies."Aawwies.." Oona sobs.
"I'm here to help out at the castle."Moontan says and moves to the door."Oh,looks like you need new refreshments." Oona looks in her backpack."Yeah..Oona does..heh..It was delicious,Moon."she says."I've got more up at the castle,Oona." Moontan says and smiles."Oona will be dere in a bit."Oona says and smiles back at her.Moontan leaves and Oona changes her clothes.She climbs down the ladder and runs to the castle.She's met by Doc and Moontan.Curious and Aynad is treating the sick ones.She walks over to Wayfinder's bed.
"Why him lookin so..different?" Oona asks.Wayfinder's skin is pale and wrinkled.And his hair turned grey."I don't know Oona,"Curious says."It's like dey is agin..Gettin old.."
"Wut? Dat can't be..." Oona says.Koni and Powers looks older too.She sees that Rose and Pixie haven't started to age yet.She walks to Rose's bed."Rosie,we meeteds da Hermit."she says and smiles.Rose looks at her and smiles back."Did he help you?" she asks."We helps eachudder." Oona replies."Wonderful..."Rose says and falls asleep.Oona walks to One's bed."Heffalump." One turns in bed,looks at Oona and smiles."Oona.." Oona smiles at One."I getteds so scared I maked bubbles comes outta da trunk..heh." One says."Oh?" Oona looks at One."Yes,so dizzy and fall on da ground..I sneezeds bubbles.." One replies and falls asleep.Oona is worried.What if everybody will age?
"Oona has to go."she says and walks out of the castle.She runs to the sandbox.She tells Snoots what's happening with the Greeters."Oh..We needs to hurry den,to sees Oracle."he says."I done wif jet,less go see Schlitzie.They walk to the Ork Embassy.Schlitzie is trying out some new clothes and is looking kinda piraty."Yar-har ya land-lubbin' gitz!" he shouts and grins."Lookit me new skin-cuvvaz!" Snoots and Oona nods."Yeah,very kewl,Schlitz !"Snoots says."OI! izzat dat git Prawfistz 'ead-buckit?!?"Schlitzie shouts."Roight den....tellz me 'ow ya got da fing!" " Snoots hands the helm to him and starts telling Schlitzie of his adventures in the marshies.
"So dere I was,toe to toe wif five of da nastiest Troggies you ever sees !" Snoots says with excitement in his voice."Suddenly all ten of dems surrounds me ! I pounce and Dwagon fueys dems! Hoowaaahhh !" he says and does some kind of Dwagon super attacks."And when da dust cleared,dere was twenty less Troggies in da world!" Snoots smiles proud."Very impressive dere lil Dwagon!HAR! Good wun!" " Schlitzie grins."Pfft !" Oona says."Snoots can only count to three..." she giggles."Oh,yeah and Mean helped."Snoots smiles."Him helps get Prawfist,but I bonked hims on da head! Muwahahaha!"Schlitzie seems impressed by the Dwagon's achievements."Youz doin good dere lil Dwagon."Schlitzie grins.
"Oona get da Sid'hindarin from Prawfist !" Oona points out."Oona been good too!" Schlitzie looks at her and grins."Pixie brave worrior too!Yar, fought bout az good az a ork ya did!" he says and smiles.Oona feels proud and grows an inch. "Fankz fer me new soup-bowl! Ya done good bringin' me dis fing, an' ya brought yerselves great honor in a 'ard wun scrap!" he says and pats them on the heads."Roight! I'z orf to da castle ta show dem gitz 'ow ta do fingz roight propa orky-like...LOK'TAR OGAR!"" Schlitzie says.Snoots and Oona gets back to the jet.
Oona gives Snoots the boots and the clothes Rose gave her."Ya needies dose where we is goin now.."she says."And we just had winter here..Oona not happy to go backs to winter.." Snoots puts on the clothes and hops into the jet.Oona puts the seatbelts on."We has to finds Ouija first.." she says."Who dis Ouija?" Snoots
asks."Ouija is Oona's Drow mellon."she smiles."Yeah,I unnerstands him yer buddy,but who is hims?" "Him da great grandson of Llotlh,da black spider..But him not like da black spiders..or Llolth..Ouija zhah l' Ib'leua Phish Orbb.."she says. "Meanin..?" Snoots asks."Da Humble Red Spider..Him leaves da clan..Him not follows da dark ways of Llolth." she explains."Ahh !" Snoots says."An who dis Llolth?"
"She da Spider Queen..Has dark powers and is evil..""Ah..Wut else?" he asks."Nuthin else.." she says."Ok."
Snoots starts the engine.Oona sees Moontan coming.Snoots shuts the engine.The windshield opens."I was thinking,you might need this for your journey." Moontan says and smiles.She hands them two bundles."Thanks so much,Moontan !" Oona says."Oona fergetteds to get sum at da castle..." She gives Moontan a big hug."You be careful now" Moontan says."Yes,always,Moontan."Snoots says and grins.The windshield closes and Snoots start the engine again.They wave at Moontan and she waves back."How lucky is we to gets dese goodies

Oona gives Snoots directions to the Torel realm.Oona knows that is where Ouija lives...Or at least where he can be found.Oona once heard Ouija talking about a tavern called "The Smiling Drow" in the south of Shadowdale town. She's been told that this tavern houses outcast Drow and Drow that no longer follows the dark ways of Llolth.But Oona knows that does not mean that all these Drow can be trusted.There is always other alliances to join.Still she is sure that Ouija will help them.
Chapter 17
They arrive at the Torel realm at night.The whole realm is covered in a thick fog."You only finds foggy places,Oona..." Snoots says."Oona never been here before,Snoots..Or at ShadowMire..Oona not knows dese places was foggy.."Oona says."I put radar on so we not crash into sumthin..Or sumone..." he says.The radar screen is beeping.It shows one green dot.Oona looks at the radar screen.She sees one green dot and one red dot."Uumm..Red dot movin towards green dot..."she says."Movin very fast toward green dot..Oona thinks we green dot...." she says.Snoots tries to move jet out of range.They hear a clank and the jet shakes.
"Arrow!" Oona shouts.Oona sees more red dots.They hear another clank and then another clank."Snoots,sumone is peltin us wif arrows !" she shouts "Yes,I see dat !" he says "Ok..Stealth!" Snoots pushes the stealth button.The jet becomes invisible."Woah !Kewl,Snoots!" He looks at her and grins."But you know..It not works if sumone makes loud sounds,k?" Oona nods."Oona will zip it.." she whipsers.She goes through her pockets and finds a mouse.She hands it to Ozzy.They see a sign.It says "Shadowdale". "South of Shadowdale,you said?" Snoots whispers.Oona nods.They drive through town with half-timbered houses,brick houses and cobblestone roads.
Some of the houses have signs.They hear voices.A door is open and Oona sees little Drow children chasing eachother inside.Laughing and shouting.Long silvery white hair and ebony colored skin.The children is having fun."Here it is."Snoots says.Oona sees a large half-timbered house with a sign by the door that says: "The Smiling Drow."Oona eeps."Wot? Snoots asks."Dat one large intimidatin Drow..."she whispers and point.Outside of the tavern they see a large Drow that seems to be the bouncer."Heh..Him must eat lotses of pancakes fer breakfast.." Snoots says a and grins.
He hides the jet in some bushes.They walk up to the tavern.The large Drow looks at them with narrow eyes."Oona handles dis..."she wispers to Snoots."Okies"Snoots says.They stand infront of the large Drow.He's about to open his mouth.Oona bows to the Drow."Oona lac'na Ouija Faen Tlabbar.."(Oona seeks Ouija Faen Tlabbar) she says.The Drow looks down a Oona and grins."Zhah nindel ji?"(Is that so?) the Drow asks her.Oona nods at the Drow."Oona zhahus della uk zhahus ghil"(Oona was tolds him was here).The Drow has his fingers around his sword."Kruk dosst chaon!"(State your business) he shouts.
Oona whimpers."You says you handle dis...."Snoots mutters under his breath."Ouija Faen Tlabbar zhah Oona's abbil..."(Ouija Faen Tlabbar is Oona's friend...) she continues fast. "Oona zhah ghil ulu joros ukta whol mriggan lu' xxizz.."(Oona is here to asks him fer guidance and help).The Drow seems inpatient with them."Dos inbal l' xan'ss ?" he says."Oh dear..Him is askin fer a password...."she says."You knows da password?" Snoots asks."Ouija never says nuthin about a password..." The Drow unsheath his sword and point it at them."Yikes !" Oona shouts."..Ummm..Neitar khaless natha Ilythiiri nindel sanwttddar?"(Never trust a Drow dat smiles?) she tries.
The Drow grunts."Oh...Umm..Natha Ilythiiri abbil orn zuch kyorl dosst rath?"(A Drow friend will always watch yer back?" she asks."Ph' dos velxunai?"(Are you spies?) the Drow asks."Velxunai? Nau !" (Spies? No!) she cries. "Nindyn vel'uss kyorl ninta ratha,thalra elghinn dal l' alust?" She tries different Drow sayings hoping that one of them will be the password."Velxunai !" the Drow shouts.More Drow appears and they are armed."Aaawies..Him

The Drows are shouting and pointing their swords towards them,
Oona sees the women crying in the streets,fetch their children and runs inside.They hear doors shuts.The streets are quiet."Vaen mayar ! Xan'ss !"(Last chance!Word!" the bouncer Drow says.Oona gets down on her knees and starts crying."Ouija,where is ya?"She looks up at the Drow."Xan'ss !" Ozzy starts flying and hooting.Oona takes a deep breath."...L' Ib'leua Phish Orbb...?" she whispers."Telanth nindel 'sohna!"(Say that again) the bouncer Drow shouts."L' Ib'leua Phish Orbb.." The Drow lowers their weapons."Wot you says?" Snoots asks."Fre'sla phor.Dos xal sultha." the bouncer Drow says.Oona gets up and wipes her tears.The Drow opens the tavern door for them and show them that they can enter."Wot you says?" Snoots asks again.Ozzy lands on Oona's head.They walk inside.It's dark.There is a bar with chairs around.The tavern is full of Drow.The chatting stops and they all look at Snoots and Oona.The Innkeeper looks at them."Al'doer,niki!Vel'bol shlu'ta Usstan gultah dos?" (Welcome,strangers! What can I offer you?) he says and smiles.He shows them two seats by the bar.
They sit down by the bar."Niar,qualla..."(Water,please...) Oona says."Wut ya wants to drink,Snoots?" The Drow starts chatting and goes back to what they were doing earlier."I not thinks dey has Wootnog here..."he says.The Innkeeper hands Oona a glass of water."G'rftte"(Thanks)"Wot you says back dere Oona?"Snoots asks."Da Drow trusts no one it seems..."she says."Well,not da Drow here,tho.." Snoots looks at her."L' Ib'leua Phish Orbb means; Da Humble Red Spider.." Oona says."Dat was da password?"Snoots asks."It seems

"Oona lac'na Ouija Faen Tlabbar.."she says to the Innkeeper."Ah ! Uk zhah naut ghil ditronw nin.Uk orn tlu ghil ulnin." the Innkeeper says and smiles."G'rftte" Oona says."Him says Ouija not here right now,but him will come soon." Snoots goes through his backpack."I hungry" he says.He finds one of Moontan's delicous buns and takes a bite."Ph' dos draa jugare? Ssinssrin ulu inbal natha cuass'ili ulu v'dre?" the Innkeeper asks."Snoots,da Innkeeper asks if we wanna room fer da nite" she says."Sure."Snoots says with a mouthful.
"Siyo,udos ph' jugare nin.L' kyorlen tahta Oona.Udos orn'la saph natha cuass'ili whol l' isto,qualla.." ( Yes,we is ok now.Da guards scared Oona.We would like a room fer da nite,please)she says.The Innkeeper waves at a Drow to come over."Ah! L' kyorlen inbal natha i'dol d' xunin nindel..H'ros khaless jaluss nindolen tangin.."(The guards have a way of doing that..Can't trust no one these days..." the Innkeeper says.A tiny Drow walks up to them.
"Al'doer,niki.Usstan tlun Yle.Usstan orn jous dos ulu dosst cuass'ili "(Welcome,strangers.I am Yle.I will show you to your room) she says and smiles.They follow her upstairs.Oona never sees a Drow this tiny.She's the same hight as her.Oona and Yle starts chatting.Snoots jumps on the bed and continues eating.He watches Yle and Oona speaking in Drow.They giggle and plays what looks like rock, scissors, paper.Oona goes through her pockets,finds a mouse and gives it to Ozzy.He grabs it and flies up on a shelf with it.She goes through her backpack,finds two buns and hands one to Yle.She smiles and accepts it.
"Bel'la dos,Oona"(Thank you,Oona) Yle says and smiles"Moontan zhah natha zhennu co'ce.Ilta cahallin zhah al izwin"(Moontan is a great cook.Her food is well known) Oona smiles back."Nindol zhah ssuorr !"(This is delicious) Yle says.The door opens.A large Drow enters."Ure Mori'Quessir !" Oona shouts.
