Chapter 4
Snoots and Oona packs their backpacks for the long journey to the Moondust realm."Hey,Oona I good builder.I buildeds many things.We can travel wif my vehicles." Snoots says proud."Ya thinks we can gets to da Moondust realm in bumpercars?" Oona giggles."Umm,no..I thinkin one of da jets I buildeds." Oona looks at Snoots."Jets?" Snoots smiles."Yeah,dey fast thingies ! Zaza zing ! We dere in no time."Oona giggles. "Ya silly..We really gonna be dere in zaza zing?"Snoots nods."Yup yup yup!" "Dis Oona gotta sees"
They get their backpacks and walk to the sandbox."Checks dis out,it pretty neato" Snoots says and shows Oona a tiny remote."Wif dis tiny gadget I has all powa ! Muwhahahaha!" Oona eyerolls. "Really?" "No,but
it pretty neato" he says and Oona can tell by the look of his face that he's really excited.He clicks the big red button on the remote.Nothing happens.He clicks it again.It's getting dark Oona gets bored."Well,get on wif it!" she says."It worked before" Dwagon scratches head.Oona sighs and sits down."Oona never knows it was dat many stars at nite...."The silence gets interupted by Snoots's: "Hah!"Oona jumps and looks annoyed."I knows it,I fergetteds to change batteries.Here we go."
Oona eyerolls.Snoots changes batteries and Oona lays down on her tummy."Checks dis out !" he
says."Ya says dat an hour ago..." "Yeah,but now it works." "Yeah,ok.." Snoots clicks the red
button.Oona hears a clank and then a buzzing sound.Snoots snickers.She hears some kind of machinery working.Then the ground starts shaking.Oona gets up.Infront of them,the ground opens and reveals a passage."When ya makes dis,Snoots?" "Long time ago.Less go down."
They walk down what looks like a tunnel.It leads to a large room."Dis is my secret garage" Snoots
smiles.Oona sees many different kinds of vehicles and gets impressed.She had no idea he could build so many things.The large room is filled with different sized vehicles and many gadgets and tiny gizmos.Snoots walks over to one of the smaller vehicles."I like dis one.Fast and small.We not needs a big ride." he says and throws his backpack inside."Ya can drive?" Oona says."Yeah,sure,why not?" Oona stares at him."Yes,I can drive.Get in,silly !" Oona gets in."Fasten seatbelts and hands inside da vehicle when it movin."The windshield moves down and Snoots puts his pilot goggles on.
"Wowie ! Dat many buttons ! Wut dis one do? And dis one? Wut about dis one?" "No,touchy ! I da driver,you da passenger."Oona crosses her arms and pouts."Stoopid dwagon"she mutters."Wot's dat?" Snoots asks."Nuthin.." Snoots starts the engine and they fly out of the tunnel.When they are outside,Snoots stops and clicks the red button.The entrance in the ground closes.Snoots drives and Oona looks at the stone again.Oona sees a beautiful forest and small waterfalls.Beavers swimming in a pond and birds flying in the sky.
"Wot dat?" Snoots says."Wut is wut?" Oona says."Dat glowy thingy ya gots dere" "Koni says it a Moonstone.... and dat it can tells da past and da future..And Oona thinks we is goin to a forest wif big trees and waterfalls.." "Let me see !" "No!" "Aww,come on!" "Ya not lets Oona push a button" she pouts.They argue over the stone and Snoots is not watching where they are going.Oona looks up and sees a big tree coming towards them."Aaahh,Snoots,watch out !" Snoots looks up and moves the sticks to turn the jet.They move closer and closer to the tree.Oona panics and pushes a button.
"No!"Snoots shouts. "No touchy!" "Oona gonna push all da buttons !" Snoots tries to push Oona away from the dashboard.The tree is moving faster towards them."You pushed da speed button !" Snoots shouts.Oona screams and pulls one of the sticks.They manages to turn the jet before it hits the tree and crashlands in a pond."Now,look wot ya did?" Snoots says."Oona did?Ya da driver,Oona da passenger." she says."We crashlandeds sumwhere.." Snoots jumps out of the jet and into the pond."Now,wot we do? Snoots says."It not Oona's fault we here." "No? You was da one dat wanteds to go to da Moondust realm was it not?" Oona pauses,looks at Snoots and says:"Yeah,but it not Oona's idea to drives da jet in da pond."
Snoots eyerolls."Well,ya helped and it wouldn't has happened if it wasn't fer da stone of yers.""Oona sorry,Snoots..." Oona looks down."It ok,da jet not broked,but we needs to get it out of da pond."They look around and wonder where they are.Beavers are swimming around in the pond.White powder like sand on the ground that sticks to Snoots's feet and Oona's boots..They see big birds flying in the nightsky.
Chapter 5
Snoots and Oona starts walking.They have no idea where they are or where they are going.After a while,Snoots stops and sits down on the ground."Wut's wrong,Snoots?" "I hungry.." he says "I not go anywhere before we eat sum." "Ok,we can camp here" They unpack their bags to get food.Snoots starts making a fire and Oona finds pillows for the logs they sit on."Tuna!!" Snoots opens a can with tuna and digs in.Oona finds some crackers."Umm..Oona?Why you wanted to go to da Moondust realm?" Snoots asks.Oona tells Snoots about the Soothsayer."Hahaha!We here coz you wants yer future tolds?" Snoots laughs."I could helps wif dat.I has fortune cookies!"
Oona eyerolls."It not dat kind of future Oona wants to knows,Snoots" Oona says and sighs."Ok,wot kinda future den?" Oona tells Snoots what the stone showed her and that she visited the Merpeople."Ok,so you thinks dis Soothsayer will helps us finds da..Wot was it? ..Sim' salamimin?" "Sid'handarin.." They hear a sound.It's coming from Snoots's backpack.They both get up to investigate.The backpack is moving.And a head comes out,with a cookie in it's mouth."Hey!" Snoots shouts.It's a rat and it runs away with the cookie.Snoots runs after it shouting."You lil theif ! I get you !"
Oona stays behind.She is too tired to run after rats.She hears Snoots coming back,still running and shouting at the rat.The rat runs around the fireplace and Snoots follows it.
Oona looks at the turqoise stone again.She sees marshies.Tiny wooden cottages and torchlights.It's dark there.Only light from the torchlights.And shadows."Haha!Gotcha you lil nuisance !" Snoots shouts."Ya so noisy" Oona says."Wot? Him steals my cookie!" "Ya not has more?" Oona asks."Yes,but dat not da point.Him..Aaaahh !" Wut is it?" Oona asks.
"Rat bites me!" Snoots drops the rat and puts his paw in his mouth.
"Haha,see wut happens when ya messin wif wild animals? Hopes ya not got infecteds by sumthin!" Oona laughs."Snoots? Oona? What are you two doing here?" They turn around to see who's asking."Moontan?" Oona says.Moontan is a Woodland Elf.She has long brown wavy hair and greenblue eyes.She has a warm kind voice,and an accent Oona thinks is frenchlike sometimes."Wut ya doin here? " Oona asks."I live here.This is my realm.What are you two doing here this late at night?" Moontan asks."We is lookin fer da Soothsayer" Oona replies."Yeah,Oona wanties to get her future tolds" Snoots laughs.Oona sticks a tongue out at Snoots."Ya so silly" Moontan giggles."Is that right?" she says "You are looking for the Soothsayer?" "Yes" Oona says."Well,first you two come with me to my home.I don't want you out here alone at night."
"Why not?"Oona asks."Lately..there been some ..disturbances at night.Come with me."she says.Snoots and Oona packs their backpacks and follows Moontan.They walk down a hill and gets onto a narrow road.It's night,but the Moon is close and big.She gives them enough light to see where they are going.There is a woosh sound and they all react to it.It makes them shiver.Strange creatures seems to manifest from the very shadows.Dark,floating,one eyed creatures surrounds them.Oona screams."Oh,my ears!"Snoots complains and covers them with his paws."Quick,this way!" Moontan calls.They run after her and the shadow like creatures are following them.
Chapter 6
They keep running in Moontan's directions and don't stop until they reached a cosy cottage with a rooftop of hay.She opens the door and they run inside.Moontan locks the door and starts lighting candles."Help me out!" Oona and Snoots helps her lighting all the candles they can see."They can't be defeated,"she says"But they don't seem to like light."Moontan lights the fireplace and hangs a cauldron in it."Come,sit" she says and they sit around a round wooden table.Moontan sets the table with deep dishes.The cauldron is simmering.She fills the plates with warm soup.
Snoots and Oona digs in.Food always tastes better when someone else has made it."Ah,Oona loves dis soup,Moon" Oona smiles."Best soup I ever tasteds" Snoots says.Moontan smiles.
"So,you are looking for the Soothsayer"she says.The both nods."Ya knows her?" Oona asks.
"I should sure hope so" Moontan says and smiles.Snoots and Oona stops eating and looks at her.Moontan giggles."I'm the Soothsayer" she says."You means we wenteds all da way out heres,when we could just has summoned you?" Snoots says.Moontan is often seen in Elf Clan realms.She travels there quite often.
"Well,at least we gots a trip." Oona says."Oona not been here before.It very purdy here.And ya has cosy howse." "I not likes crashlandings or shadow creatures."Snoots says upset."Crashlandings?"Moontan asks."Yeah,we crashlandeds in a pond..." "Yeah.. sumone pusheds da speed button!" "No,it yer fault!Ya not watches where ya drivin!" "We not crash if sumone not pusheds all da buttons!" "Snoots poots!" "Stop it,both of you." Moontan shouts."Why are you fighting?" They both crosses their arms and turns their back against eachother."Him says it Oona's fault..."
"There is no need to argue over the past.It won't change anything." Moontan says.Oona turns and sticks her tongue out at Snoots."You two always been good friends.Why are you so mad at eachother?" "Him starteds it!" Wot?!!" "Oona not makes us crash on purpose!" "But we crash,I not makes us crash.."He covers his mouth and coughs:"ItwasOona" "Ya..ya..ya..ohhh !" Oona wants to call Snoots something,but holds it.She don't want to say something she might regret. "Wot? Record broked?" "Do I have to give you timeouts?" They both look down."I sorry!" "Oona sorry too.. Friends?" They smile and hugs eachother."That's better"They get seconds of Moontan's lovely soup."You seek the Sid'handarin.." Moontan says."I not.Oona is.I not even knows wot dat is.." "Oona is lookin fer it.Sumone stoleds it from da Mers."
Moontan does a hand gesture and the candle light flickers in different colours.Red,purple,green and yellow.Flickering images forms in the light.They see marshies and dense trees.Small wooden cottages and touchlightfire."This is Trogg territory" Moontan says."Wot?" "Troggs..They are tribal..And they are omnivores..." "Omni..wot?" "It means dey eats everythin,Snoots..Dey just wanna fills deyr tummies.." "Ah..." "Wot? Eats everythin? Even cookies? Tuna? ..Err..us?" "Yes,one cannot be too careful in ShadowMire..." "We not goin dere..Is we?"
The light shows images of a larger round wooden cottage with round windows and roofs of hay."This is the Hermit's hut..." "Da who?" "The Hermit,it means he lives alone and prefers it that way." "Yeah,okay,him lives dere..and him's closest neighbors is da Troggies?" "Yes,nobody will bother him there." "Yeah,him gots dat right.Who would go dere and be Troggie lunch?" "You will." Moontan says.In the candlelight,Oona sees Snoots and Oona walking in the marshies."I so not goin dere!""We has to go dere,Moon?" Oona asks."Well,he knows where Sid'handarin is.." "Now,how you knows dat?"Snoots asks."I'm a Soothsayer.I not only have the power to see the past and the future.I also see the truth.I know he knows about it."
Oona is worried.She really don't want to go to ShadowMire.But Oona knows she has to.The stone showed her ShadowMire also.So it has to be something about the Sid'handarin and the light Chole was talking about."It's late" Moontan says and makes a bed for them.""Night night,Snoots and Oona.Get some rest." "Nitey nites!"The candlelights are still burning and for Snoots and Oona it's difficult to sleep with the lights on.Snoots does a handgesture and says:"Pixie feels veeeery sleeepy..." Oona giggles."Ya comin wif Oona to ShadowMire?" she whispers."Yeah...I will go.."he whispers."And Pixie feeeels veeery sleeepy..." She smiles at him and they talk until they fall asleep.
