Chapter 7
The morning after,Oona wakes up to see blue rays coming through the window.She gets up,and
looks outside.She sees that the Sun is darker blue and that it seems smaller."Snoots.." She walks to the bed where he is sleeping."Snoots.." she calls again,but the little dwagon don't seem to wake up."Snoots?" "I busy...thinkin hard....cookies..." "Snoots!!" she shouts and shakes him."You know..I not like wakin up like dat.." "Oona sorry,Snoots..But ya has to sees dis." Snoots gets out of bed and looks out of the window."Woah..Sun changed..." "Yeah,and it not good.." Snoots rubs his eyes and yawns."Where Moontan?" They hear sounds coming from outside and Moontan comes in with two buckets with something bright blue.
It's some kind of creamy liquid."Yakow milk!" Oona shouts.Moontan tells them to get some mugs in the cupboard.They fill their mugs with fresh Yakow milk."I saw your ship,Snoots,"she said."I had it pulled up from the pond.The Yakows helped."she said and smiled."Woohoo!"Snoots shouts.Moontan sets the table with pastries and tea.While they eat breakfast,Oona watches the Sun.All the strange stuff happened after the Sun turned blue.She thinks it has something to do with the Sun."Moontan..Why da Sun changes colour?"she asks.Moontan does a hand gesture over the candlelight and once again the light changes colours.
Images of snow appears.Tall blueskinned people.An icecastle.And a large blue statue."I do
not know,Oona....It shows the path to the Oracle of the North...The Oracle might know." "Oona thinked ya would knows,ya knows da truth..." Oona says dissapointed."Yes,I know the truth of people.What they know..Not about the Sun..I am very sorry,Oona..." she says."It ok,Moon...Ya helps us lotses."Oona smiles."This realm is called Northern Tundra.I do not know alot of this place,but it seems hostile.If you two are going there to see the
Oracle,you should not go there alone."she says."It more hostile dan ShadowMire?" Oona asks."It seems so,and from what I see,these blueskinned people seems intelligent,fast and strong."
Oona is thinking of who they could travel with,that knows how to deal with hostile.The candle light flickers and shows an image of a Drow.Oona giggles."Dat Oona's mellon,Ouija" she smiles."Who?"Snoots says."I not knows hims.." Oona smiles."Him good,Snoots.A bit crazy,but good."she says."Oh?"Moontan says."I heard the Drow is not to be trusted..." "Yeah,"Oona says,"But Ouija is different..Him not like da udder Drow.Him good."Oona smiles and finishes her pastry and tea."Dis really good bread,Moon" Moontan smiles."It's a recipe from my
grandmother.You can have some with you if you like.You want some?"she asks.
"Why ya asks? Of course,Moon."Oona giggles.Moontan wraps some bread in cloths and hands them
to Snoots and Oona."Your ship is right outside,Snoots." Snoots smiles.They walk outside.In the blueish light they see beautiful meadows,white powderlike sand,grassing Yakows,chickens running about.Big birds flying in the sky and ponds with swimming beavers.They toss their packpacks in the jet."Come back again sometime"Moontan says"You are always welcome here."They give Moontan a big hug and hops into the jet."Thanks so much fer everythin,Moon." Oona smiles."Yes,thank you thank you." Snoots says."Great pastry."
They wave at Moontan and she waves back.
"Ok,wut we do first,Snoots?ShadowMire or Northern
Tundra?" "I dunno."he says."Wot you thinks?" "Oona thinks ShadowMire..Oona dun wanna go any of dose places really..." Snoots nods."We go backs to ElvenMyst..Oona needies to sees Rosie.""Okies" "We has to drive dis slow?" Oona says."Well,no..But I tired..I wake up very bad dis mornin.." "Oona sorry about dat.." "Ok,"he says."we can go faster.Hold on tight." he pushes the speed button.Everything around them turns into a white light and when it vanishes,they are in the sandbox."Oona will go and sees Rosie.Oona needies ..stuffs.."she says. "Okay,I needs to put fuels on da jet."
Oona walks to Rose's house.Rose lives under the Museum of Elf Clan.She opens the door and
walks in."Oona!" Rose smiles."Rose!How is ya?" "I'm good..How are you?" "Oona tired.." "Aww,what can I do for you?" "Oona is gonna travels far..Oona and Snoots needies boots and clothes fer da climates dere..." "Oh?What kind of climate?" "Marshies and snow.." Everybody knows,if there is something you need,Rose most likely has it.She has everything,or if it's not exactly what you're looking for,it still useful.Rose smiles and hands Oona clothes and boots that Oona needs."Where are you going?"she asks.Oona tells her of ShadowMire and the Northern Tundra.
"I know the Hermit!"she says.Which is no surprise to Oona.Rose knows everybody."He is a grumpy old fart.He doesn't like anybody or anything.Not sure if he will help you.." "Ah,great..."Oona says dissapointed and puts on the new clothes Rose gave her."I wish you and Snoots good luck." The door opens.Loopy and Zauber enters.Loopy is a beautiful redhaired autumn coloured elf and Zauber is a professor looking Dragon."Rose,we need you at the castle..."
Zauber says."Wut is it?" Oona asks."Is it Wayfinder? Is him gettin worse?" They hurry to the castle.Koni tells them Wayfinder is getting weaker.And now,Powers is ill also.Oona sees two beds in the room.Ozzy flies from Koni's shoulder and lands on Oona's.She gives him a mouse she had in her pocket.Oona has all kinds of food for animals in her pockets.Ozzy eats the mouse."Waaark!"(Strange shadows at night.) "Ohh!Dey here too?" Oona asks.Ozzy nods and hands her a purple orblike object.Oona thinks it looks like the shadow
creatures eye."Waark!"(Stranger comes back.Make big light,shadow vanish.Orb falls on floor.)Oona looks at Wayfinder and Powers.She's worried.She don't know why they are sick,but she is sure it has something to do with the Sun.
Chapter 8
Koni and Oona walks out of the castle to the sandbox.They find Snoots there working on his jet."Hi,Koni!Hi,Oona!"he says and smiles.The smile dissapears sudden and he asks,"Oy,why da long faces?""Wayfinder is getting weaker and now Powers is sick too." Oona says."When Powers get sick?" "Just now,"Koni says."He just said he wasn't feeling well and passed out.." Oona throws her backpack in the jet."Err..You ok dere,Koni?" Snoots asks."I feel..." Koni collapses and falls on the ground."Oh noes! Koni??!!" Oona jumps down from the jet."Now she sick too..." They carry her to the castle and a bed is made for her.
Oona looks at Koni.She is pale and her eyes is barely open.She holds Koni's hand."Oona.."she says."Take care of Ozzy..." Koni falls asleep."Oona will..." she whispers.They move back to the jet in the sandbox."Oona was just thinkin..."she says. "Da Troggies..Dey is greenskin..Like da Orkses.Maybe we should asks Schlitzie about dems."They visits Schlitzie.He seems happy to get visitors.Oona asks him about the Troggs." Dey'z nasty buggerz dey iz... if yooz meetz one yooz in deep doo-doo...hrrmm..."he says."But if dey'z two uv dem gitz, dey might getz ta fightin' ovur yaz...dem gitz iz greedy dey iz, alwayz fightin' ovur noshinz!"Snoots and Oona nods.
"But yaz betta be watchin' yer 'ide down in dat pit. It'z dark down dere, 'ard ta spotz 'em when dey'z sneakin' aboutz in da waterz...watch fer da glowin' red eyez" he says serious."Thanks so much fer da info,Schlitz." Oona says worried."Ain't nuffin' to it runt" he says and smiles "Oh ya, if'n ya can, bring me dat git Prawfist'z helm?"
They look at him."Who dis Prawfist?" Snoots asks."Dat git'z da chief uv dem Trogg-boyz!""Ok..Wot ya needs it fer?" "Dat helmet would make a roight noice soup bowl!" Schlitzie grins."Yeah,ok,if we finds it,we gets it fer you." Snoots says.On the way back to the sandbox,Oona asks:"Why ya says we brings backs Prawfist's helm?How ya thinks we gonna gets dat?" Snoots shrugs."I dunno,guess we just takes it." Snoots says and grins."Wut ya means "we"?" she says."Dun worry,Oona.It no problem." Snoots smiles.
When they reach the jet,they jump in,fasten seatbelts and the windshield closes.Ozzy flutters around."Ok,two things; birdie sits still when we moves,k?" "Yups,Ozzy,come here." Ozzy lands on Oona's lap and Snoots starts the engine.Oona looks at the stone again.She sees marshies and small wooden cottages.The shadows from the torchlights moves and she sees the Troggs.They are greenskinned with large red glowy eyes,just like Schlitzie said.They have paintings in their faces and on their chests.They wear leather loincloths and an extra set of claws on their hands.Oona don't like what she sees.
"Oona,keep da birdie still.I not wants another crash,k?"Snoots says."Oooh,sorry,Snoots."She gets Ozzy to sit on her lap and feeds him.After Ozzy finishes his meal,he falls asleep.They pass a sign that says: "ShadowMire". They drive through a mushie cave passage.Under them there is a river.They follow the river and it ends in a waterfall.They stop for a little by the cave exit.They see torchlights,marshies,dense trees,wonky wooden plank bridges and idols.It's dark and moist.Oona draws little smiley faces and hearts on the window."You has
to doodle on everyfin?"he says."It called croqui"she says."Crocky? Wot ya talkin about?"
"Quick drawin..It called croqui."she says and smiles.
"Yeah,ok..I not campings outside here wif dese vile creatures around.We sleeps in here:" he says. "Okies,Snoots" she says."Oh,Oona almost fergets!Ya remembers da shadow creatures in da Moondust realm?" "Yes,dat when you screams so loud my ears hurteds.." "Well,Oona thinks it a way to defeats dem afterall." She shows Snoots the purple orb.She tells him what Ozzy said about it."Ozzy says all dat?Him not tells you how stranger makes big light?" "No,him not tells Oona how da stranger dids it,but him defeateds a shadow creature,so den it possible."
They fly above the chasm the wooden bridge is hanging over.Snoots parks the jet next to a sign that says:"Be aware" "Uumm,Snoots,is it dat wise to park here?It says be aware on dat sign." "I know,dese works you know!" he says and points at his eyes."No need to be dat rude,Snoots..Just sayin.."Oona says and pouts."You know,no place is safe here,Oona..It not matter where we parks,and we safe in here." "How ya knows dat,Snoots?" "Coz I make supersafe jet,dat why!" Oona feels a strange urge to fight Snoots,but tries to calm down instead.She
wonders why she gets so mad at him.And why they fight so much.
She thinks it has something to do with the Sun,since all strange things has happened after it turned blue.She never argued with Snoots before.They've always been good friends.She tells Snoots what she thinks,and he agrees that it's strange.He says he also feels this sometimes.They talk about fun times when they played in the sandbox and were dancing.They wish it could all go back to what it was.While they talk,they get tired and falls asleep.Then Ozzy wakes Oona up."Waark!Waark!"(Enemy!)
Chapter 9
Oona looks outside the window straight into a pair of red glowy eyes.She screams.There is a Trogg outside grinning.Ozzy flies around and shreaks.The Trogg starts to push the jet.Oona feels the jet moving.It's like sitting on a boat on waves.The Trogg is laughing and keeps pushing the jet."Snoots!she shouts."Ahh,I neber get to sleep no more!" Snoots says upset."Snoots!Dere is a Trogg outside and him is pushin us down the chasm!" "Wot?!"Snoots looks out the window and sees the crazy Trogg laughing and hissing."I wanna sleep! I bery tired!I not sleep well in days!"
He pushes a button on the dashboard and a boxing glove comes out on the side of the jet.It knocks out the Trogg."Dere!Nitey nites!"Snoots says and lays down.He wiggles and moves to get in a comfy position and cuddles his pillow."Nice pillow...Soft velvety...I comfy..I sleep..mmmm" Oona giggles."Uumm,Snoots?" "Mmmhmm?" "Oona has to go pee pee..." "Geez Louise ! I neber gonna get sum sleepies !" "Oona sorry..All dis..excitement wif da Trogg makes Oona nervous..And when Oona nervous..." "Ok,but makes it quick."Snoots
pushes a button and the windshield opens.Oona jumps out.She sees the unconsious Trogg on the ground.He's skinny with long arms and legs.
She walks to a bush."Uumm,Snoots?" "Yes?""Ya knows..Umm..it very difficult to..err..when ya watchin..Do ya mind?" "I not sees nuthin.You behind da bush."he says. "Just..look anudder way,ok?""Ah,ok.."he says.When she's done,she runs back to the jet and Snoots closes the windshield."Now,can I sleep?"he says."Yes"Oona giggles.Snoots wiggles to get into the comfy zone again and falls asleep.Oona looks at the stone again.She sees marshies.Little wooden cottages and wooden builds with bridges on.She sees Troggs lurking in the water and what looks like idols that fire arrows.She sees the Hermit's hut.She puts the stone back in her pocket and
goes to sleep.
When she wakes up,she sees that the Trogg is gone.He must have wandered off.
It's lighter now,but foggy.Snoots is still sleeping and she lets him sleep.She eats breakfast and drinks some Yakow milk.Ozzy sits on Oona's head and pecks the window with his beak."Ozzy,dun do dat..It will wakes Snoots."Ozzy stops and cleans his feathers.Oona looks outside and sees that it gets darker again.In ShadowMire it's mostly dark,even at daytime.That's because the trees are so dense they block most of the Sunlight.But the creatures and plants here don't seem to need that much light.
Snoots wakes up."Wot?!It nite already?I sleep all day?" Snoots says."No,it just got dark again..Oona thinks it always dark here..Mostly.." Snoots sits up and eats breakfast.Oona tells him she knows where the Hermit's hut is and of the danger that is around.It also seems they can't ride the jet all the way through."Oh,darn.." Snoots sighs."It gonna takes fereber to gets dere.." "Ozzy can be are lookout,"Oona says."Him can flies ahead and
warns us of wut dat comes." "Okay,but we rides jet as far as we can." Oona nods.
Snoots starts engine and they drive down a hill.
They pass small wooden cottages and wooden builds with bridges on.The torchlight lights the ground,but everything above them is dark.When the path gets narrower and the trees makes it difficult to manouver the jet,Snoots stops."Looks like we has to walk from here.."he says.They get out and starts walking.Ozzy flies ahead and scouts.He comes back once in a while to give a report to Oona.They keep walking until the path splits.Oona tells Ozzy to checks the left hand path.Snoots and Oona waits for his return."Waaark! Waaark!(Path no good.Many enemies.And fire).Oona tells Ozzy to check the right hand path."Snoots,Ozzy says it too many Troggies on da left path...Hopes right path is better.."
"I wanna go home.I hungry."Snoots says.His tummy makes an unhappy sound."I bery hungry".
Ozzy comes back."Waaark"(Better path.Not many enemies.Hides in water) "Ok,Ozzy says dere is
Troggies in da water on right hand path.Remembers wut Schlitz says; look fer red glowy eyes." They move on.They pass more wooden cottages."Waaark!"(Hide!) Oona grabs Snoots and they hide behind a tree.They spot two Troggs.One is larger and more brownskinned than the other.They seem to be talking and enters the cottage.Ozzy lands on Oona's head to rest."Ok,now wut?"Oona whispers.Snoots shrugs.They hear the Troggs talking inside.None of them ever heard this language before.They decide to wait.
